The Suspended Self
Identity, Participatory Art
The Suspended Self is a participatory art project that guides participants in re-examining themselves, allowing them to experience the tension and connection between self-perception and the gaze of the other. The project invites participants to undertake a "self-search" through a six-question text, which is then interpreted and transformed into visual portraits by various viewers. All portraits derived from the same text are fused into a dynamic "collective portrait," exploring how identity is co-constructed as a fluid product through the ongoing dialogue between self and others.
